Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria for the Sponsor:
Age and Status:
Must be at least 18 years old, a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person registered under the Canadian Indian Act as an Indian living in Canada.
Residency:
If you’re a Canadian citizen living outside Canada, you need to show you intend to reside in Canada when the sponsored person becomes a permanent resident. Only residents of Canada were eligible to sponsor.
Financial Stability:
Proves that they have the ability to provide for the basic needs of the sponsored person and that he or she will not require social assistance of the government.
Legal Obligations:
If a permanent resident, cannot be in prison, bankrupt, under a removal order, or convicted of a serious offence.
Eligibility Criteria for the Sponsored Person:

Age:
You must be at least 18 years old.
Admissibility:
